Internship-Based Programs
Internships with a Global Impact
Over the course of a semester, participants will intern remotely with organizations headquartered in a destination city that focus on LGBTQ+ advocacy, media, community building, research, and more. These virtual internships provide hands-on experience in fields that directly impact LGBTQ+ communities while allowing students to engage with the culture and issues of their host city from afar. Alongside their internships, participants will engage in structured virtual programming, including cohort-based discussions, mentorship, and professional development sessions. This format fosters deep connections with local organizations in preparation for the in-person capstone experience at the end of the semester.
In-Person Capstone Experience
At the end of the semester, the cohort will come together for a one-week immersive experience in the city where their internships were based. This capstone trip allows participants to visit their host organizations, meet mentors in person, engage with local LGBTQ+ leaders, and explore the cultural and social landscape they’ve been working within remotely. Through site visits, community dialogues, and shared reflection, students will deepen their understanding of global queer advocacy and solidify the professional and personal connections they’ve built throughout the program.
